🎯 Role Summary

The Fintech Software Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for testing financial technology applications and ensuring that software products meet established functionality, performance, security, and reliability standards before deployment.

The role involves designing test strategies, identifying software defects, validating application behaviour, and collaborating with developers and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will help prevent technical issues that could affect financial transactions, customer experiences, and the reliability of digital financial services.

This position is suited to a detail-oriented quality assurance professional who understands software testing principles and can apply structured testing methods within a fintech environment.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and quality assurance documentation for fintech applications.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.

• Validate payment workflows, digital account functionality, transaction processing, and application interfaces.

• Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution.

• Work closely with software developers to investigate technical issues and verify corrective actions.

• Perform API testing to validate communication between financial applications and external services.

• Assess application behaviour under different operating conditions and user scenarios.

• Support automated testing initiatives to improve testing efficiency and software release quality.

• Review product requirements and technical specifications to identify potential quality risks.

• Participate in sprint planning, release reviews, and continuous improvement activities.

• Maintain accurate test results and communicate quality concerns to relevant stakeholders.

• Verify that software updates do not introduce defects into existing financial workflows.

🎓 Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Professional experience in software quality assurance or application testing.

• Understanding of software development lifecycles and established testing methodologies.

• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and API testing.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Postman, Selenium, Cypress, or comparable testing platforms.

• Basic understanding of SQL and database validation.

• Ability to analyse technical requirements and convert them into structured test scenarios.

• Strong attention to detail and systematic problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of fintech applications, payment systems, or digital banking platforms is an advantage.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed engineering teams.
