Role Summary

The Payment Network Certification Specialist will coordinate certification and testing activities required to connect payment platforms with card networks, payment processors and financial institutions.

The role involves managing certification documentation, coordinating technical testing, reviewing test results and working with engineering teams to resolve certification-related issues. The successful candidate will ensure that payment technology changes and new integrations satisfy relevant technical specifications before production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate certification activities for payment processing systems and card payment integrations.

• Review technical certification requirements issued by payment networks and processing partners.

• Prepare certification plans, testing schedules and implementation documentation.

• Coordinate testing activities involving card transactions, authorisation requests and payment messages.

• Work with engineering teams to investigate and resolve certification failures.

• Review test results to confirm that payment systems meet applicable technical requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of certification progress, approvals and outstanding issues.

• Support certification activities for new payment features and system enhancements.

• Coordinate with external processors and financial institutions throughout certification exercises.

• Assist with testing transaction routing, card authorisation and payment response handling.

• Monitor changes to payment network technical specifications and identify required system updates.

• Prepare reports covering certification status, testing outcomes and implementation risks.

• Ensure that relevant technical documentation is maintained and accessible.

• Support regression testing following changes to payment infrastructure.

• Identify opportunities to improve certification procedures and reduce testing delays.

• Collaborate with product, compliance and technology teams to support successful payment launches.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in payment technology, card processing, system integration or technical certification.

• Understanding of payment transaction lifecycles and card payment infrastructure.

• Familiarity with ISO 8583 messaging concepts and payment authorisation processes.

• Knowledge of API testing and technical integration procedures.

• Experience with Postman, Jira or comparable testing and project management tools.

• Understanding of payment gateways, processors and card issuing environments.

• Ability to interpret technical specifications and certification requirements.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Excellent technical documentation skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple certification activities simultaneously.

• High attention to detail and a structured approach to testing.

• Ability to work effectively with distributed engineering teams.
