Role Summary

The Financial Data Integration Engineer will design, implement and maintain technical solutions that enable financial information to move securely and accurately between different applications and financial systems.

The position focuses on building data integration workflows, developing interfaces, maintaining data pipelines and resolving connectivity issues affecting financial platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, banking specialists and product teams to ensure that financial data integrations remain reliable, scalable and consistent.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data integration solutions connecting financial platforms, banking systems and external service providers.

• Develop and support data pipelines used for exchanging financial information between applications.

• Implement integration processes using APIs, web services and structured data formats.

• Work with financial transaction records, account information and payment-related datasets.

• Investigate data transfer failures, integration errors and inconsistencies between connected systems.

• Develop validation procedures to maintain accuracy and completeness across financial data exchanges.

• Collaborate with software developers to implement new integration requirements.

• Monitor integration performance and identify opportunities to improve processing efficiency.

• Support the implementation of automated data transformation and synchronisation processes.

• Maintain technical documentation covering integration architecture, data mappings and system dependencies.

• Participate in testing activities for new financial integrations and platform enhancements.

• Work with database systems to extract, transform and load financial information.

• Implement appropriate error-handling and logging mechanisms across integration workflows.

• Support troubleshooting activities involving financial data connectivity and system interoperability.

• Recommend improvements to integration architecture, reliability and maintainability.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.

• Professional experience in software integration, data engineering or financial technology development.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services and system-to-system communication.

• Proficiency in Python, Java, C# or another relevant programming language.

• Experience working with SQL databases and structured financial datasets.

• Familiarity with JSON, XML and data transformation techniques.

• Understanding of financial transactions, banking systems or payment processing is advantageous.

• Knowledge of cloud-based integration environments and automated data pipelines.

• Experience with Git, testing frameworks and technical documentation.

• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering and business teams.

• Good communication skills and attention to technical detail.
