The organization is expanding its API product capabilities and seeks a knowledgeable Financial API Product Specialist to support product development, technical coordination, and the improvement of financial integration services.

Role Summary

The Financial API Product Specialist will support the development, enhancement, and ongoing management of API-based financial products.

The role involves translating customer and business requirements into product specifications, coordinating technical development activities, reviewing API functionality, and supporting product releases.

The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, product managers, business analysts, and financial technology partners to ensure that API products meet technical requirements and provide reliable integration experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and continuous improvement of financial API products.

• Gather product requirements from business stakeholders, clients, and technical partners.

• Translate business needs into clear API product specifications and functional requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on API development priorities and product enhancements.

• Review API documentation to ensure that product functionality is clearly communicated.

• Support the development of API use cases involving payments, account information, and financial data exchange.

• Coordinate product testing and validation before new API features are released.

• Monitor API product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Review integration feedback and communicate recurring technical challenges to development teams.

• Support the development of API onboarding documentation and technical product guides.

• Participate in product planning, backlog reviews, and feature prioritization activities.

• Coordinate with external technology providers and financial institutions on integration requirements.

• Assist with the evaluation of new financial API capabilities and market opportunities.

• Maintain product documentation, release notes, and functional specifications.

• Work with support teams to investigate API product issues and recommend improvements.

• Contribute to product quality and usability improvements across financial integration services.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• At least three years of experience in fintech product management, API product development, financial technology, or software implementation.

• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, API authentication, and integration workflows.

• Familiarity with payment APIs, open banking, banking integrations, or financial data connectivity.

• Experience gathering business requirements and preparing functional specifications.

• Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate requirements to engineering teams.

• Understanding of software development and product lifecycle management.

• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman is advantageous.

• Experience working with Agile product development teams.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate multiple product development activities.

• Professional proficiency in English.
