Role Summary

The Open Banking Connectivity Specialist will manage technical and operational activities associated with connecting digital financial platforms to banking institutions and external financial service providers. The role focuses on maintaining reliable account connectivity, supporting payment initiation integrations, investigating connection failures, and improving the quality of financial data exchanged between systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate with software engineers, integration teams, product specialists, and banking partners to ensure that open banking services operate consistently. This position requires an understanding of financial APIs, banking connectivity standards, and the technical processes involved in delivering secure account information and payment services.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain connectivity between fintech platforms, financial institutions, and authorised third-party service providers.

• Support the implementation and maintenance of open banking API integrations.

• Monitor account information services and payment initiation connections to identify interruptions and performance issues.

• Investigate API errors, authentication failures, incomplete account data, and unsuccessful payment requests.

• Review integration logs and technical reports to identify recurring connectivity problems.

• Work with engineering teams to improve API reliability, response times, and data consistency.

• Support testing activities for new banking connections, API updates, and integration enhancements.

• Monitor the quality of financial information retrieved through connected banking systems.

• Maintain technical and operational documentation covering integration procedures, connection requirements, and troubleshooting activities.

• Coordinate with external banking partners when resolving connectivity or service availability issues.

• Assist with implementing appropriate security and access controls for financial data exchange.

• Track integration performance and prepare reports highlighting service reliability, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business Systems, or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in fintech integrations, open banking, API connectivity, payment technology, or financial systems support.

• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication methods, and web-based financial services.

• Familiarity with PSD2-related concepts, account information services, or payment initiation services is an advantage.

• Knowledge of banking data structures and financial transaction workflows.

• Experience using API testing and monitoring tools such as Postman or comparable platforms.

• Ability to analyse technical logs and investigate integration-related problems.

• Strong documentation, communication, and organisational skills.

• Understanding of data protection and information security requirements within financial services.

• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with distributed technical teams.
