Role Summary

The Forex Trade Surveillance Analyst will monitor trading activity across foreign exchange markets to identify unusual transaction patterns, potential market manipulation, suspicious trading behavior, and deviations from established trading policies.

The role involves analyzing trade data, investigating alerts, reviewing execution patterns, and supporting the implementation of effective surveillance controls. Working remotely from Estonia, the successful candidate will collaborate with trading operations, risk management, and compliance teams to maintain appropriate oversight of trading activities.

This position is suited to a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of forex markets, transaction monitoring, and financial market surveillance.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor forex trading activity across currency pairs, trading accounts, and relevant financial instruments.

• Review trading alerts generated by surveillance systems and investigate unusual transaction patterns.

• Identify potential market abuse, suspicious trading behavior, and irregular execution activity.

• Analyze trade timing, order activity, execution patterns, and transaction volumes.

• Investigate unusual price movements and trading behavior that may require additional review.

• Maintain accurate documentation of surveillance investigations and findings.

• Support the development and refinement of trade surveillance monitoring rules.

• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to investigate potential trading policy violations.

• Review trading activity against established internal controls and applicable regulatory expectations.

• Prepare periodic surveillance reports highlighting significant findings and emerging risk indicators.

• Support the improvement of automated monitoring systems and analytical procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive trading information.

• Contribute to the development of surveillance procedures and internal monitoring guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in trade surveillance, financial market monitoring, compliance, or trading operations.

• Strong understanding of foreign exchange markets and electronic trading environments.

• Familiarity with transaction monitoring, market abuse indicators, and surveillance procedures.

• Strong analytical and investigative skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis tools.

• Experience with SQL, Python, or surveillance platforms is an advantage.

• Ability to interpret complex trading data and identify irregularities.

• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
