A forward-looking fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Senior Embedded Finance Architect to design the financial infrastructure behind next-generation digital products.

This is a senior architecture role for a professional who understands how banking capabilities, payments, APIs, identity, financial data, and compliance requirements can be integrated into modern software platforms. You will work across product and engineering functions to create financial services that are scalable, secure, and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design architectures for embedded finance, payment, account, and financial-data capabilities.
• Define API and service architectures connecting fintech platforms with banking and payment infrastructure.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and architectural standards.
• Lead technical discovery for new financial products and strategic initiatives.
• Establish patterns for authentication, authorisation, data protection, transaction processing, and service resilience.
• Collaborate with engineering teams developing microservices and event-driven systems.
• Evaluate third-party financial infrastructure, APIs, and technology providers.
• Identify architectural risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Partner with compliance, security, product, and operations teams throughout solution development.
• Provide architectural leadership during implementation and production evolution.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of experience in software architecture, fintech, banking technology, payments, or financial infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, microservices, cloud platforms, and financial transaction flows.
• Experience designing technology for regulated or highly sensitive environments.
• Strong knowledge of security, scalability, reliability, and integration architecture.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders.

Technical Environment

Cloud-native infrastructure, REST and event-driven APIs, microservices, containerisation, distributed databases, event streaming, CI/CD, observability, and automated security controls.
