Executive Leadership Opportunity

A sophisticated fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Chief Risk Technology Officer to lead the technology strategy underpinning enterprise risk, fraud prevention, financial crime controls, and intelligent decisioning.

This executive role sits at the intersection of technology, risk management, data science, cybersecurity, and financial services. The successful candidate will build the technology capabilities required to identify emerging risks while enabling the organisation to grow responsibly across increasingly complex financial markets.

Executive Mandate

• Define the strategic technology vision for risk, fraud, and financial-crime capabilities.
• Lead teams responsible for risk platforms, decision engines, fraud technology, and risk data infrastructure.
• Establish scalable architectures for real-time transaction monitoring and automated risk decisioning.
• Develop technology strategies supporting customer-risk assessment, fraud prevention, AML controls, and financial-crime intelligence.
• Partner with data science teams to integrate advanced analytics and machine learning into risk decisions.
• Establish governance around model performance, data quality, explainability, and technology risk.
• Work with compliance, security, product, and engineering leadership to embed risk controls directly into financial products.
• Oversee strategic technology investments and third-party risk platforms.
• Establish metrics covering detection effectiveness, operational efficiency, financial exposure, and control performance.
• Present risk-technology strategy and investment priorities to executive leadership.
• Develop senior technical leaders and establish a culture of measurable risk ownership.

Executive Profile

• 12+ years of experience across technology, fintech, banking, risk technology, fraud, or financial crime.
• Significant senior technology leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of real-time decisioning, data platforms, distributed systems, machine learning, and financial-risk technology.
• Experience operating in regulated financial environments.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and technology risk.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technology strategies.
• Exceptional executive communication and leadership capabilities.
