Role Overview

A technology-driven fintech organisation in Estonia is hiring a Fintech Cloud Security Architect to design and strengthen the security architecture supporting cloud-based financial platforms.

The role is suited to a senior security professional who can operate at architectural level while remaining close to engineering teams. You will help establish secure-by-design principles across applications, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and critical financial services.

Core Responsibilities

• Define security architecture for cloud-native fintech applications and financial infrastructure.
• Establish secure architectural patterns for APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and data platforms.
• Design identity and access-management strategies using least-privilege and zero-trust principles.
• Review cloud infrastructure, application designs, integrations, and technology changes for security risks.
• Develop controls for encryption, secrets management, network security, logging, monitoring, and privileged access.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish threat-modelling and security-review processes for critical financial products.
• Support vulnerability management, penetration testing, incident response, and security remediation.
• Assess the security implications of third-party platforms, payment integrations, and external APIs.
• Develop security standards aligned with financial-sector expectations and European regulatory requirements.
• Communicate complex security risks clearly to engineers, product leaders, and executives.

Technical Environment

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with modern cloud and security technologies, including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, APIs, microservices, IAM, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, SIEM platforms, encryption, and automated security controls.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, security architecture, or technology risk.
• Proven experience designing security architectures for complex cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of application security, network security, IAM, cryptography, and secure software development.
• Experience securing APIs and distributed financial or high-value transaction systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and modern DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or equivalent are advantageous.
