Senior Fintech Solutions Engineer

Design and Deliver Complex Technology Solutions for Modern Financial Services

A high-growth fintech organization in Estonia is seeking an accomplished Senior Fintech Solutions Engineer to design and deliver sophisticated technology solutions across digital financial products, payment services, customer platforms, and internal financial infrastructure.

This is a senior technical role for someone who can move confidently between business requirements, system architecture, software engineering, APIs, integrations, and production delivery. You will work with product, engineering, security, data, and operations teams to transform complex financial requirements into scalable, reliable technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex financial and business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Design end-to-end architectures spanning applications, APIs, databases, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate services supporting payments, accounts, financial data, and digital customer experiences.
• Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for modernization and improved operational efficiency.
• Lead technical discovery, solution design, estimation, implementation, and production rollout.
• Develop secure integrations with banks, payment providers, identity platforms, and external technology partners.
• Establish appropriate standards for scalability, reliability, observability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure architectural designs can be implemented effectively.
• Investigate complex production issues and contribute to long-term technical remediation.
• Assess emerging technologies and determine their suitability for fintech applications.
• Document solution architectures, technical decisions, integration patterns, and operational requirements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to broader technology strategy.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical architecture, or fintech technology.
• Strong experience designing complex technology solutions across multiple systems.
• Excellent understanding of APIs, microservices, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
• Experience working with financial, payment, banking, or other transaction-intensive platforms.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of security, data protection, authentication, and integration architecture.
• Excellent technical documentation and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to complex technical problems.

Technical Environment

The environment may include Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, PostgreSQL, REST/gRPC APIs, AWS/Azure, Terraform, CI/CD platforms, API gateways, observability systems, and financial-service integrations.
