Design the Technology That Powers Smarter Financial Compliance
A forward-thinking fintech organization in Estonia is seeking an experienced Senior RegTech Solutions Architect to design sophisticated technology solutions for regulatory compliance, financial controls, customer due diligence, and automated reporting.
This is a strategic architecture position for a technology professional who understands how modern software can transform complex regulatory requirements into scalable, automated platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Define enterprise architecture for regulatory technology and financial compliance platforms.
- Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into scalable technical architectures.
- Design systems supporting automated compliance workflows, regulatory reporting, customer due diligence, and financial controls.
- Develop integration strategies connecting compliance platforms with banking, payments, identity, and transaction-processing systems.
- Establish architectural patterns for secure data processing, audit trails, workflow automation, and regulatory evidence management.
- Collaborate with compliance specialists to convert regulatory obligations into technically implementable controls.
- Design highly available services capable of supporting large-scale compliance operations.
- Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics for responsible use in RegTech.
- Establish technical standards covering security, data governance, interoperability, observability, and system resilience.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction to engineering teams.
- Support technology modernization initiatives across legacy compliance infrastructure.
- Communicate architectural decisions, technical risks, and implementation strategies to senior stakeholders.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in software architecture, solutions architecture, enterprise technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience within fintech, banking, payments, RegTech, or another regulated technology environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design complex enterprise and distributed-system architectures.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, databases, event-driven systems, and integration patterns.
- Experience working with sensitive financial or customer data.
- Understanding of AML/KYC, regulatory reporting, risk controls, or financial compliance processes.
- Strong knowledge of security architecture, access control, encryption, data governance, and auditability.
- Experience communicating complex architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities.
Technology Environment
The architecture landscape may include AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, APIs, Kafka, PostgreSQL, workflow engines, identity platforms, data lakes, AI/ML services, event-driven systems, and automated compliance infrastructure.
Why This Opportunity
Estonia’s financial sector continues to place significant emphasis on digital innovation alongside robust supervision and risk-aware technology adoption. This role provides an opportunity to help shape the technology that makes modern financial compliance more intelligent, automated, transparent, and scalable.
Ideal Candidate
You are an architect who can bridge the gap between regulatory complexity and technical execution. You understand that successful RegTech requires more than automation—it requires traceability, explainability, security, resilience, and the ability to demonstrate that controls work as intended.
