About the role
The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff. We’re cracking the online identity crisis in a scalable way, deploying excellence to keep Veriff on the cusp of innovation. It’s a fast-paced market with many challenges. We need new talent on board to help us fill the gaps – bringing new ways of thinking into the team and, therefore, new possibilities.
Our Analytics Data Platform processes billions of events daily across multiple AWS regions, serving as the backbone of data-driven decision-making at Veriff. As our first dedicated Analytics Platform Engineer, you will own the infrastructure that enables data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver insights that make the lives of millions of people safer online.
You’ll help us protect honest people online by:
-
Maintaining and optimizing self-hosted tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Redash, Tableau) to ensure agreed availability
-
Designing and implementing AWS infrastructure (e.g. S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift) across multiple regions with strict compliance requirements
-
Building comprehensive observability for our multi-region Data Lake and Data Warehouse infrastructure
-
Implementing FinOps practices: cost tagging, attribution, monitoring, and optimization across our data platform
-
Creating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to enable reproducible, scalable deployments
-
Managing Kubernetes infrastructure for data platform services
-
Proactively preventing issues through monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
-
Participating in on-call rotation and resolving infrastructure incidents
You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you:
-
Have 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering
-
Have deep expertise with AWS services, especially data-related infrastructure (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, IAM)
-
Have strong Terraform/Infrastructure as Code experience
-
Can design and maintain Kubernetes clusters and troubleshoot containerized applications
-
Have experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or similar)
-
Can script and automate using Python and other languages
-
Understand data platform concepts: data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines
-
Have experience implementing AWS IAM best practices, security controls, and compliance requirements
-
Have worked in international teams and have excellent English communication skills
-
Take ownership of infrastructure components and drive improvements independently
You’re an especially awesome match if you have:
-
Experience with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or other data lakehouse technologies
-
Apache Airflow administration experience at scale
-
ClickHouse or other columnar database experience
-
FinOps certification or demonstrated cloud cost optimization success
-
Experience with data governance, compliance requirements (GDPR, data residency)
-
Background in data engineering or analytics, understanding the end-user perspective
-
Ability to explain complex infrastructure concepts to non-technical stakeholders
