ABOUT THE JOB

As the Head of our Financial Crime Risk Management Department, you will lead one of the most strategically important areas in the bank. This is a high‑impact leadership role where your expertise, vision, and ability to drive change will directly influence our resilience, efficiency, and long‑term success. You will shape the department, modernize the AFC risk framework, and guide a talented team through meaningful transformation.

 

How You Will Make an Impact

🟣Lead with Purpose. Take ownership of Luminor’s Anti‑Financial Crime (AFC) risk management processes — AML/CFT/CFP, Sanctions, External Fraud, Customer Risk Scoring — ensuring they are effective, efficient, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

🟣Drive Efficiency & Continuous Improvement. You will play a key role in transforming how AFC risk management operates. We need a strong leader who can streamline, simplify, and elevate these processes.

🟣Build Strong Internal & External Partnerships. Your success will depend on exceptional stakeholder management. You’ll work closely with AFC Operations, Technology, Financial Crime Compliance, as well as external industry groups and regulators.

🟣Inspire & Lead a High‑Performing Tea. Oversee a department of 60–70 colleagues, with 4–5 direct reports. The structure is still evolving — and you will have a significant role in shaping it.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Own all AFC risk management processes and ensure they run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with best practices
  • Lead the development, improvement, and governance of AFC/FCRM systems and tools
  • Contribute to AFC Risk Appetite, Policies and Standards
  • Establish methods, procedures, and a strong awareness and training framework
  • Provide senior stakeholders with clear insight into risks, assessments, and performance metrics
  • Oversee collection and analysis of unusual activity and red flags
  • Lead investigations on escalated AML, Sanctions, and Fraud cases
  • Represent Luminor in regulatory and industry association forums
  • Set departmental priorities, roadmap, and annual activity plan

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Solid background in Financial Crime Risk Management by proven track record in leading FCRM function — AML, Sanctions, Fraud, KYC/EDD, and regulatory frameworks
  • A trusted expert with strong credibility in the AFC field
  • Proven experience leading large teams and guiding change in complex environments
  • Strong understanding of AFC systems, data, and technology, with curiosity towards AI and new capabilities
  • A change‑driver mindset — you make things happen and deliver results
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Business-minded thinking and an ability to balance efficiency with risk controls
  • A growth mindset, adaptability, and openness to continuous improvement
  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
