Description
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Product to help us shape the next chapter of crypto tax. This is ideal for someone who’s strategic, technical, and passionate about crypto.
We’re a fully remote-first, async-first startup with product-market fit in a niche (and booming) domain: crypto taxes. If you value autonomy, technical excellence, and clear communication over meetings and process complexity, this is the place for you.
-
Bringing product maturity (without the bloat) Introduce structure and clarity to how we do product: prioritization, discovery, documentation, and iteration, while keeping things fast, async, and lightweight.
-
Owning product strategy with the Founder Co-develop and evolve our product vision and strategy. Align the roadmap with business goals and make sure every team knows what we’re building and why.
-
Staying hands-on where it matters You won’t just set direction, you’ll also dive into specs, validate problems, run discovery sessions, or step in to ship critical features alongside the team when needed.
-
Aligning teams and decisions across functions Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure everyone’s solving the right problems, aligned on outcomes without extra meetings.
-
Have 5–10+ years of product management experience, including time spent owning major product areas or leading product at a successful startup.
-
Have a track record of working on complex, technical products (data-heavy, fintech, or crypto ideal).
-
Have deep crypto fluency. You understand cryptocurrency fundamentals, including liquidity, DAOs, transaction mechanics, and blockchain ecosystems without needing a glossary.
-
Know how to connect product strategy to business goals: you’ve made roadmap decisions that balance user value, technical feasibility, and commercial impact.
-
Have proven 0 →1 experience, made trade-offs under pressure, and shipped iteratively.
-
Have experience managing and hiring product teams. You’ve built, coached, and scaled product functions in a high-growth environment.
-
Are able to read and reason through code. You’re comfortable digging into the codebase to clarify logic, debug issues, or align closely with engineers.
-
Have strong analytical and technical skills. You can go deep when needed. Whether it’s exploring edge cases in the data, debugging with engineers, or pressure-testing logic in the codebase.
-
Have high attention to detail. You spot inconsistencies others miss and sweat the details in specs, QA and UX without losing sight of the bigger picture.
-
You collaborate smoothly across marketing, customer support, and devs, bringing alignment.
-
Have hands-on execution ability. Whether it’s writing a spec, mapping a user journey, or helping QA a tricky flow, you’re comfortable switching between big-picture strategic thinking and day-to-day tactical work.
-
Operate with ownership and autonomy, and thrive in environments with high trust and low oversight.
-
Scalable product processes: You know how to set up lightweight, async-friendly rituals and systems that improve clarity, speed, and accountability, without slowing the team down. From customer feedback loops to analytics dashboards, you make it easy for teams to learn and act fast.
-
Strategic clarity: You can connect the dots between product decisions and company goals. You bring a clear point of view on where the product should go next and the processes to keep everyone aligned.
-
Comfort with ambiguity: You make decisions with incomplete information and adjust as quickly as things evolve.
-
Bias for practicality: You’re willing to dive into unglamorous or tactical work when needed. We’re a startup, after all.
-
Go-to-market fluency: You have a strong grasp of product-led growth, monetization, or go-to-market alignment.
-
Founder collaboration: You’ve worked closely with founders and within remote, distributed teams, and understand how to build trust and momentum in high-autonomy environments.
-
A profitable, bootstrapped startup in a hyper-growth industry.
-
Direct access to the founder, an engineer who understands your challenges.
-
Pure Ruby on Rails backend, no language sprawl, no over-engineering.
-
High autonomy, async-first, deep work, minimal meetings.
-
Massive data volume: billions (and billions) of trades, 900+ integrations.
-
Lean team with big impact: millions of users, only 37 people company-wide.
-
No bureaucratic bloat, no corporate theatre.
-
Remote, flexible working hours, async by default.
-
Crypto-adjacent without the hype: we’re a painkiller, not a multivitamin.
-
Contract type: Full-time (Contractor – B2B)
-
Location: Remote [EMEA]
-
Perks:
-
32 days of PTO
-
Async culture
-
Fast-moving team
-
Founder access
-
The expectation that you own your work
