Role Summary

The Electronic Trading Systems Support Engineer will provide technical and operational support for electronic trading applications and associated financial market infrastructure.

The position focuses on monitoring trading platform availability, investigating technical incidents, supporting order processing systems, and maintaining reliable connectivity between trading applications and external market infrastructure.

Working remotely within Estonia, the engineer will collaborate with software developers, infrastructure specialists, trading operations, and external technology providers to ensure that trading systems function efficiently.

The role is suited to a technically capable professional with experience in application support, financial markets technology, and system troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the availability and operational performance of electronic trading applications.

• Provide technical support for order management systems and trading platform components.

• Investigate system interruptions, application errors, connectivity failures, and performance degradation.

• Support the monitoring of market data feeds and trading system communication channels.

• Assist with troubleshooting FIX protocol connectivity and related messaging issues.

• Review application logs and system monitoring information to identify technical problems.

• Coordinate with software engineering teams to resolve recurring system defects.

• Support platform upgrades, software releases, and infrastructure maintenance activities.

• Conduct technical validation following system changes and deployment activities.

• Maintain incident records, technical documentation, and operational support procedures.

• Escalate critical technical incidents according to established support processes.

• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, monitoring coverage, and incident response.

• Collaborate with trading operations teams to minimise technology-related disruptions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least three years of experience in application support, systems engineering, or financial technology infrastructure.

• Understanding of electronic trading systems and financial market technology.

• Familiarity with Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and application troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of FIX protocol or financial messaging systems is an advantage.

• Experience with monitoring tools, application logs, and incident management systems.

• Basic scripting knowledge using Python, Bash, or similar languages.

• Understanding of databases, SQL, and system connectivity.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.

• Ability to manage technical incidents and collaborate with distributed engineering teams.
