Role Summary

The Cryptocurrency Wallet Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the technical infrastructure that supports cryptocurrency wallet services. The role focuses on wallet connectivity, blockchain network integration, transaction signing workflows, key-management interfaces, and the reliable movement of digital assets across supported blockchain networks.

The successful candidate will work alongside blockchain developers, security engineers, infrastructure specialists, and product teams to ensure wallet systems operate securely and efficiently. This position requires strong software engineering capabilities, an understanding of blockchain architecture, and practical knowledge of the technical considerations involved in managing cryptocurrency transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure supporting cryptocurrency wallet applications and digital asset services.

• Integrate wallet systems with supported blockchain networks and external cryptocurrency service providers.

• Develop backend services responsible for wallet creation, address generation, transaction broadcasting, and transaction status tracking.

• Implement reliable transaction signing workflows and secure interactions with key-management infrastructure.

• Support integration with hardware security modules, multi-party computation systems, or other secure key-management technologies.

• Monitor wallet infrastructure performance and investigate transaction processing failures, network delays, and connectivity issues.

• Develop automated monitoring and alerting processes for wallet services and blockchain node infrastructure.

• Implement appropriate safeguards to protect sensitive wallet operations and reduce exposure to unauthorised access.

• Collaborate with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and improve infrastructure protection.

• Maintain technical documentation covering wallet architecture, blockchain integrations, transaction workflows, and operational procedures.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

• Investigate blockchain protocol changes and assess their potential impact on wallet compatibility and system reliability.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven experience in backend engineering, blockchain development, or cryptocurrency infrastructure.

• Strong programming knowledge in languages such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, or TypeScript.

• Understanding of blockchain architecture, distributed systems, and cryptocurrency transaction lifecycles.

• Familiarity with wallet infrastructure, public and private key concepts, digital signatures, and transaction broadcasting.

• Experience integrating blockchain nodes, RPC interfaces, or cryptocurrency APIs.

• Knowledge of secure software development practices and application security principles.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and automated deployment processes.

• Understanding of multi-signature wallets, hardware security modules, or multi-party computation is an advantage.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work independently in a distributed engineering environment.
