Role Summary

The Forex Trading Platform Performance Engineer will focus on monitoring, analyzing, and improving the technical performance of foreign exchange trading applications and supporting infrastructure.

The role involves identifying system bottlenecks, investigating latency issues, monitoring platform availability, and supporting the stability of trading environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with software engineering, DevOps, and trading operations teams to ensure that trading platforms maintain reliable performance during active market sessions.

This position is suited to an engineering professional with experience in application performance monitoring, financial technology infrastructure, and systems optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance and availability of foreign exchange trading platforms and supporting applications.

• Analyze system latency, processing delays, connectivity interruptions, and application response times.

• Investigate performance issues affecting order submission, price updates, and transaction execution.

• Support the monitoring of trading application infrastructure during major market sessions.

• Identify system bottlenecks and recommend improvements to application performance.

• Collaborate with software engineers to troubleshoot technical issues affecting trading functionality.

• Monitor connectivity between trading platforms, liquidity providers, and market data services.

• Support performance testing and technical validation of trading platform updates.

• Analyze application logs, system metrics, and performance monitoring data.

• Assist with the implementation of monitoring dashboards and automated system alerts.

• Support the investigation of trading platform incidents and document root causes.

• Work with DevOps teams to improve deployment reliability and infrastructure performance.

• Evaluate system resource utilization and identify opportunities for optimization.

• Maintain technical documentation covering performance standards, monitoring procedures, and incident resolution.

• Contribute to improvements in platform resilience, availability, and operational stability.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

• Previous experience in application performance engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure support, or financial technology.

• Understanding of trading platform architecture and real-time financial applications.

• Experience with application monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of Linux or Windows server environments.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar platforms.

• Understanding of networking, application latency, and system connectivity.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Familiarity with APIs, FIX protocol, or electronic trading infrastructure is an advantage.

• Understanding of database performance and application log analysis.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering and trading operations teams.

• Professional working proficiency in English.
