Company Overview
The organisation operates within the financial markets sector, focusing on foreign exchange analysis, market intelligence, and research-driven financial decision-making. Its activities require a detailed understanding of currency movements, monetary policy, macroeconomic developments, and the factors influencing liquidity, volatility, and international capital flows.

Role Summary
The Senior FX Market Strategist will analyse global foreign exchange markets, develop currency-market outlooks, and translate economic and financial developments into structured strategic insights. The role requires an ability to connect macroeconomic fundamentals, central bank policy, market positioning, technical indicators, and price behaviour to explain potential movements in major currency pairs.
The successful candidate will produce independent market assessments, monitor developments affecting currency valuations, and communicate clear scenarios to internal stakeholders. The position combines fundamental and technical analysis with disciplined interpretation of market data, helping the organisation understand emerging trends, identify changing market conditions, and evaluate the implications of significant economic events.
Key Responsibilities
-
Monitor major and selected minor currency pairs, assessing exchange-rate movements, market momentum, liquidity, volatility, and emerging trading themes.
-

-
Evaluate monetary policy decisions, central bank communications, interest-rate expectations, and forward guidance from institutions such as the Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, and Bank of England.
-
Develop structured FX market outlooks covering short-term price developments, medium-term currency trends, and longer-term macroeconomic themes.
-
Assess the impact of geopolitical events, fiscal policy changes, international trade developments, and shifts in investor sentiment on foreign exchange markets.
-
Combine fundamental research with technical analysis to identify relevant support and resistance levels, trend changes, momentum shifts, and potential market inflection points.
-
Examine interest-rate differentials, yield movements, relative economic performance, and capital-flow dynamics when evaluating currency-pair behaviour.
-
Monitor market positioning, liquidity conditions, volatility measures, and relevant sentiment indicators to identify areas of potential market vulnerability.
-
Develop alternative market scenarios and explain the economic or financial conditions that could support or invalidate each scenario.
-
Prepare regular currency-market reports, research notes, briefing documents, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
-
Communicate significant developments affecting EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, and other relevant currency pairs in a timely and structured manner.
-
Work with trading and risk teams to explain market developments, discuss scenario assumptions, and provide research context for market exposure decisions.
-
Evaluate historical market reactions to economic releases and central bank decisions to improve the interpretation of current events.
-
Maintain a structured calendar of major economic releases, policy announcements, and other events likely to influence FX market conditions.
-
Review the accuracy of previous market assessments and refine analytical approaches based on changing conditions and observed outcomes.
-
Ensure research conclusions distinguish clearly between established facts, analytical assumptions, and uncertain market expectations.
Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics, Finance, International Economics, Financial Markets, or a related discipline.
-
Substantial relevant experience in FX strategy, macroeconomic research, currency analysis, investment research, or financial markets.

Detailed knowledge of monetary policy, interest-rate expectations, inflation dynamics, and the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and currency valuations.
-
Ability to interpret economic data releases, central bank statements, yield movements, and financial market indicators.
