Role Summary

The Remote Cloud Architect will lead the design of cloud infrastructure solutions, helping engineering teams build and operate secure, cost-effective, and highly available systems. The role requires practical knowledge of cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, networking, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design cloud architectures that meet availability, performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Develop cloud infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and technical implementation plans.
• Evaluate cloud services and recommend suitable solutions based on operational and business needs.
• Establish best practices for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and deployment automation.
• Review cloud security controls, identity management, network design, and data protection measures.
• Monitor cloud resource utilisation and recommend cost optimisation improvements.
• Work with DevOps, security, and software engineering teams to improve platform reliability.
• Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrable experience in cloud architecture or senior cloud engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or comparable technologies.
• Understanding of cloud networking, containers, Kubernetes, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles, governance, and cost management.
• Strong documentation, communication, and technical problem-solving abilities.
