Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fintech Integration Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimise integrations between financial platforms, payment providers, banking systems, and third-party technology services. The successful candidate will help deliver secure, reliable, and scalable financial technology solutions for digital transactions and financial service operations.

This position is suited to an engineer who understands API development, financial system interoperability, and the technical requirements of modern digital banking and payment infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations connecting fintech applications with banking, payment, and identity verification services.

• Implement secure transaction processing workflows, authentication mechanisms, and data exchange protocols.

• Collaborate with backend developers, product teams, and external integration partners to deliver new financial technology capabilities.

• Investigate integration failures, transaction discrepancies, latency issues, and system performance problems.

• Maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, and automated testing procedures.

• Apply security best practices to protect sensitive financial information and support applicable GDPR requirements.

• Participate in code reviews, deployment planning, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Professional experience in software integration, backend engineering, API development, or financial technology.

• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0.

• Experience with at least one backend language, such as Python, Java, TypeScript, or C#.

• Familiarity with relational databases, version control, automated testing, and cloud-based infrastructure.

• Understanding of payment processing, transaction reconciliation, or digital banking workflows is an advantage.

• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly in a collaborative environment.

API gateways, payment service integrations, cloud infrastructure, relational databases, Git, automated testing, and secure financial data exchange systems.
