Position Summary

We are seeking a capable Fintech Integration Engineer to develop and maintain integrations between financial technology platforms, banking services, payment providers, and third-party business applications. The role focuses on building reliable connections that enable secure data exchange, streamlined payment workflows, and consistent financial service delivery.

The successful candidate will work with engineering and product teams to implement integrations, resolve technical issues, and improve the interoperability of fintech systems serving customers in Estonia and across European markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain API integrations between fintech platforms, banking systems, payment providers, and external applications.

• Implement secure data-exchange processes for customer information, transaction records, payment instructions, and account updates.

• Configure and test REST APIs, webhooks, authentication mechanisms, and integration workflows.

• Investigate failed requests, transaction inconsistencies, integration errors, and service interruptions.

• Collaborate with backend developers and product specialists to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Support integrations involving open banking services, payment initiation, account information, and financial reporting.

• Apply appropriate security practices for API credentials, sensitive data, and system access.

• Develop automated integration tests and maintain technical documentation.

• Monitor integration performance and recommend improvements to reliability, scalability, and processing efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience developing software integrations, backend services, or API-based applications.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, authentication, and webhooks.

• Working knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or another relevant programming language.

• Familiarity with SQL databases, Git, automated testing, and debugging tools.

• Understanding of payment processing or banking integrations is an advantage.

• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems independently and communicate solutions clearly.

• Good written and spoken English; Estonian language skills are beneficial.

Technical Environment

The position may involve API gateways, cloud infrastructure, PostgreSQL, containerised services, CI/CD pipelines, OAuth 2.0, and integrations with European financial service providers.
