Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Fintech Integration Engineer to develop and maintain secure integrations between financial platforms, payment systems, banking infrastructure, and third-party service providers. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring reliable data exchange, transaction processing, and interoperability across digital financial products.

This position is suited to an experienced software engineer who understands financial technology environments and can translate complex integration requirements into scalable, well-documented technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and other integration interfaces for fintech applications.

• Integrate payment gateways, banking APIs, identity verification services, and external financial data providers.

• Implement secure authentication and authorisation mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0 and token-based access controls.

• Build reliable transaction-processing workflows with appropriate validation, error handling, and retry mechanisms.

• Investigate integration failures, latency issues, and data inconsistencies across connected systems.

• Collaborate with backend developers, product specialists, security engineers, and external technology partners.

• Implement automated testing, integration monitoring, and comprehensive technical documentation.

• Apply secure coding practices and support compliance with applicable data protection and financial-services requirements.

• Contribute to architecture reviews, deployment planning, and continuous improvements to system reliability.

• Support incident investigation and root-cause analysis for production integration issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least four years of experience in software development, API engineering, or systems integration.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, C#, Python, or Node.js.

• Practical experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, relational databases, and message queues.

• Understanding of payment processing, transaction reconciliation, and financial data flows.

• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automated testing.

• Knowledge of API security, encryption, access management, and secure handling of sensitive information.

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

• Professional proficiency in English; Estonian language skills are an advantage.

Technical Environment

The role may involve cloud-native applications, banking and payment APIs, PostgreSQL, event-driven architecture, Git-based workflows, automated testing frameworks, and observability tools.
