A financial operations team in Estonia is seeking a Junior Data Analyst to help transform operational and financial data into accurate reporting and actionable insights. The position is well suited to a graduate or early-career analyst who enjoys working with data and wants to develop practical expertise within banking, payments, fintech, or other financial-services environments.

You will support data preparation, reporting, quality checks, trend analysis, and performance monitoring while working closely with operations, finance, technology, and business teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare data from financial and operational systems.
• Perform data validation and quality checks before information is used for reporting.
• Produce recurring operational and performance reports.
• Analyze transaction volumes, processing activity, service performance, and other business metrics.
• Identify unusual trends, inconsistencies, and data-quality issues.
• Assist in building and maintaining dashboards and analytical reports.
• Use Excel and other analytical tools to organize, manipulate, and interpret datasets.
• Support senior analysts with ad hoc data analysis and business research.
• Document analytical processes, data definitions, and reporting procedures.
• Work with operational teams to understand the context behind reported figures.
• Assist in improving data workflows and reducing manual reporting activities.
• Present analytical findings in a clear format for non-technical stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• Strong numerical reasoning and analytical thinking.
• Good knowledge of Excel, including formulas, filtering, sorting, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Python, or another analytical technology is an advantage.
• Strong attention to data accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and determine their likely causes.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate technical or numerical information clearly.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Previous internship, academic project, or entry-level experience involving data is beneficial.
