Role Overview

A technology-driven financial services environment in Estonia is seeking an experienced Forex Technology Lead to oversee the development and evolution of technology supporting foreign-exchange trading, execution, pricing, and market connectivity.

This is a senior technical leadership position for someone who understands both modern software architecture and the operational requirements of FX markets. The successful candidate will work across engineering, trading, risk, data, and product teams to build reliable and scalable systems for institutional and digital FX operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical development of FX trading platforms and supporting services.
• Design highly available systems for pricing, order management, execution, and market connectivity.
• Integrate liquidity providers, trading venues, pricing engines, and financial data sources.
• Improve execution latency, platform resilience, and system observability.
• Establish technical standards for APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and financial data pipelines.
• Collaborate with trading and risk teams to translate market requirements into robust technology solutions.
• Oversee production reliability, incident management, performance monitoring, and technical improvements.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to long-term engineering strategy.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, financial technology, trading technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong understanding of FX trading workflows and electronic execution.
• Excellent knowledge of modern backend architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, C++, Python, or comparable technologies.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol, market data, liquidity integration, or trading infrastructure is highly valuable.
• Strong analytical and systems-design capabilities.
• Professional English communication skills.
