The Opportunity

A data-driven fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Fintech Commercial Analytics Director to establish an advanced analytics function connecting customer behaviour, financial performance, product activity, and commercial strategy.

The role is designed for an analytical leader who can move beyond reporting and help senior leadership understand where growth is coming from, where value is being lost, and which decisions can materially improve business performance.

Your Mandate

Build a commercially focused analytics capability that gives leadership and product teams a reliable, data-driven foundation for strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the commercial analytics strategy across products, customers, payments, revenue, and operational performance.
• Build analytical frameworks for customer acquisition, activation, retention, transaction activity, and lifetime value.
• Develop financial and commercial performance models supporting strategic planning.
• Identify revenue opportunities, cost inefficiencies, customer-segment opportunities, and product-performance gaps.
• Partner with finance, product, marketing, sales, operations, and data teams.
• Develop executive dashboards and decision-support reporting.
• Establish consistent definitions for critical commercial and financial metrics.
• Analyse customer and transaction behaviour to identify growth and retention opportunities.
• Support pricing, product, market-expansion, and investment decisions with quantitative analysis.
• Introduce advanced forecasting and predictive analytics where appropriate.
• Develop analytical standards covering data quality, methodology, documentation, and reproducibility.
• Mentor analysts and data specialists while establishing a high-performance analytical culture.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in commercial analytics, financial analytics, strategy, data science, consulting, fintech, or banking.
• Strong analytical and quantitative background.
• Advanced SQL and Excel skills; experience with Python, R, or similar analytical tools is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of financial metrics, unit economics, customer behaviour, and business performance.
• Experience working with large transactional or customer datasets.
• Strong ability to communicate complex analysis to senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to turn data into practical commercial decisions.
• Experience within fintech, payments, digital banking, or financial services is highly desirable.
