You will work at the foundation of the organisation’s data ecosystem, ensuring financial data is accurate, accessible, governed, observable, and capable of supporting high-volume analytical workloads.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable data platforms for financial and transactional workloads.
  • Build reliable batch and real-time data pipelines from internal systems and external financial sources.
  • Develop data models supporting transactions, accounts, payments, customers, risk, and financial reporting.
  • Establish data-quality controls covering completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and lineage.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to provide reliable datasets for advanced analytics and machine learning.
  • Integrate data from payment systems, banking partners, APIs, operational platforms, and internal applications.
  • Optimise data-processing performance and infrastructure costs.
  • Implement monitoring and observability across critical data pipelines.
  • Establish appropriate security and access controls for sensitive financial information.
  • Collaborate with compliance and security teams on data governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Improve data discoverability through documentation, cataloguing, and clear ownership models.
  • Participate in architectural decisions concerning cloud data platforms and distributed processing.

Technical Environment

Experience with technologies such as Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, dbt, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP, data warehouses, data lakes, and infrastructure-as-code is highly relevant.

Candidate Profile

  • 6+ years of data engineering or platform engineering experience.
  • Strong Python and SQL capabilities.
  • Proven experience designing production-grade data pipelines and distributed data systems.
  • Understanding of financial or transactional data structures is highly desirable.
  • Experience with real-time streaming and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data infrastructure.
  • Understanding of data security, governance, lineage, and quality management.
  • Strong engineering discipline and ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Why This Opportunity

Financial technology increasingly depends on the quality of the data underneath every decision. You will help build the infrastructure that makes financial intelligence reliable, scalable, and immediately usable.

Ideal Candidate: A technically strong data engineer who understands that financial data requires exceptional standards of accuracy, traceability, security, and operational reliability.
