The Opportunity

A technology-driven fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Principal Blockchain Infrastructure Architect to design and govern distributed-ledger infrastructure supporting next-generation financial products.

This senior position combines blockchain architecture, cloud infrastructure, security engineering, distributed systems, and financial technology. You will be responsible for establishing infrastructure capable of supporting secure, observable, and highly resilient blockchain-enabled services.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the architecture strategy for blockchain and distributed-ledger infrastructure.
• Design production environments supporting blockchain nodes, indexing services, transaction-processing components, and supporting APIs.
• Establish highly available infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop secure deployment and lifecycle-management standards for blockchain infrastructure.
• Design monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident-response capabilities.
• Work with security teams to protect keys, credentials, infrastructure, and sensitive financial data.
• Establish disaster-recovery, backup, failover, and business-continuity strategies.
• Optimise infrastructure for performance, reliability, cost, and transaction throughput.
• Evaluate blockchain protocols and infrastructure technologies against business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and risk teams on new distributed-finance initiatives.
• Establish architectural governance and technical standards.
• Mentor senior infrastructure and blockchain engineers.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, distributed systems, blockchain engineering, or architecture.
• Strong understanding of blockchain networks, node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, transaction processing, and distributed systems.
• Advanced experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, networking, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD knowledge.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, security engineering, and production incident management.
• Understanding of cryptographic principles and secure key-management practices.
• Experience within fintech, payments, digital assets, or financial infrastructure is highly desirable.
