Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Data Engineering to lead the architecture and delivery of data infrastructure supporting digital banking, payments, risk analytics, and financial intelligence. The role combines technical leadership with strategic ownership of data platforms used for high-volume financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the long-term architecture and engineering strategy for financial data platforms.
• Lead development of scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Build infrastructure supporting transaction analytics, reporting, fraud detection, and risk management.
• Establish standards for data quality, lineage, availability, security, and governance.
• Oversee integration of banking, payment, customer, and third-party financial data.
• Partner with data science and product teams to make financial data accessible and reliable.
• Drive cloud migration, platform modernization, and engineering automation.
• Lead incident management and ensure resilience of mission-critical data services.
• Mentor senior engineers and establish strong engineering practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or financial technology.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, distributed data systems, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with streaming technologies, data warehouses, APIs, and ETL/ELT architecture.
• Strong understanding of financial transaction data and regulated environments.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and large-scale data initiatives.
