Description
About the role
Join us as an Integration / Automation Engineer to build integrations, automation, and internal tooling that connect our People Technology ecosystem across HRIS, ATS, performance, payroll, identity, and data systems. You’ll initially focus on integrations and automation supporting major platform changes, while growing towards agentic and AI-powered automation as the platform evolves. Your work will help create a reliable and scalable People Technology foundation that reduces manual effort and enables smarter automation.
In this role, you will be working on delivering well-defined integrations, automations, and components from implementation through testing, release, and production support. This is a generalist role where you’ll grow across integration engineering and AI-powered automation rather than specialising in a single area. You’ll build within established architecture and standards, applying a high bar for correctness and auditability when working with sensitive employee data and employment-related processes.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Building and delivering reliable integrations, event flows, automation, and internal tooling using established engineering patterns.
- Supporting platform migrations through backfills, validation, reconciliation, parallel running, and safe handling of data changes.
- Ensuring production reliability through automated testing, monitoring, alerting, root-cause investigation, and clear runbooks.
- Protecting data integrity and sensitive employee information through safe retries, validation, access controls, and auditable changes.
- Contributing to agentic and AI-powered automation as the platform evolves, including building tooling that agents can safely use.
- Maintaining clear documentation, contributing to code and design reviews, and continuously improving your understanding of People processes.
About you:
- You have strong Python skills and can work confidently and carefully within an existing production codebase.
- You have practical experience integrating third-party APIs and understand how to handle unexpected failures and unreliable vendor behaviour.
- You understand asynchronous processing, event-driven patterns, and the challenges of building reliable distributed systems.
- You have working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0 and SSO, or can learn them quickly.
- You’re interested in AI and agentic automation, while recognising when a simpler, deterministic solution is the better approach.
- You communicate technical concepts clearly, know when to ask rather than assume, and handle sensitive personal data with care.
Why you’ll love it here
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as we succeed, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
