About the role

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a multi-platform engineering team covering mobile (iOS, Android, React Native), web, and backend, while staying close to architecture and key technical decisions. Your team will shape how millions of users experience payments across Bolt — from Rider and Driver apps to Food, Courier, and Business platforms — driving consistency, quality, and a unified payments UX platform at scale.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead and grow talented Software Engineers specialising in backend, web, and mobile platforms, building and operating systems where failures have real user and operational impact.
  • Define and drive the team roadmap together with Product.
  • Create a team setup that enables predictable delivery, good engineering quality, and healthy collaboration.
  • Drive individual 1-1s to mentor and coach Software Engineers to develop skills and uncover their potential.
  • Communicate context and decisions clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and leadership.

About you

  • You have 5+ years of hands-on software development experience and are comfortable staying hands-on with coding and technical decisions when needed.
  • You have experience owning a product or platform area end-to-end, not just individual projects.
  • You’ve led high-performing engineering teams with a track record of hiring, growing, and retaining talent.
  • You’re able to balance execution with long-term vision, set up effective engineering processes, and make data-driven decisions.
  • You have strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, working effectively across teams.
  • Nice to have: experience in payments/fintech; experience building platforms, SDKs, or reusable components.
