Position Overview

The Engineer will design and develop highly reliable technology systems supporting digital payments, merchant services, transaction processing, payment integrations, and financial APIs.

The role requires a strong understanding of distributed systems and software engineering combined with knowledge of the complexities associated with real-time financial transactions, payment authorization, reconciliation, settlement, security, and system availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable payment-processing services.
• Build APIs connecting payment platforms with banks, merchants, financial institutions, and technology providers.
• Develop transaction-processing workflows supporting authorization, validation, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Build resilient backend services capable of handling high transaction volumes.
• Develop event-driven systems for real-time payment processing.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and access-control mechanisms.
• Integrate payment gateways and financial APIs.
• Improve transaction-processing speed, reliability, and observability.
• Investigate payment failures and develop permanent technical solutions.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, cybersecurity professionals, data engineers, and financial operations teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design sessions.
• Contribute to modernization of payment infrastructure and legacy financial systems.
• Develop monitoring and alerting systems for transaction-processing environments.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should have strong software-engineering experience, preferably within payments, fintech, banking, financial infrastructure, or high-volume technology environments. Experience with transaction processing and systems requiring high availability and strong security will be particularly advantageous.
