Position Overview

The Director will lead strategic investment and venture-development initiatives across Estonia’s fintech ecosystem and the wider European financial-technology market. The position focuses on identifying emerging fintech businesses, evaluating technology-driven financial models, assessing commercial opportunities, and developing strategic relationships across the startup and financial-services landscape.

The successful candidate will combine financial analysis, investment strategy, fintech market intelligence, technology assessment, and venture development to identify high-potential opportunities and support the growth of innovative financial-technology businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop investment strategies focused on fintech and financial infrastructure.
• Identify emerging companies and technologies across payments, banking, AI, blockchain, WealthTech, InsurTech, RegTech, and financial software.
• Conduct financial, commercial, technological, and market due diligence.
• Evaluate fintech business models, revenue structures, customer acquisition strategies, and scalability.
• Analyze market size, competitive positioning, technology differentiation, and growth potential.
• Develop investment memoranda, financial models, market assessments, and strategic recommendations.
• Build relationships with founders, investors, financial institutions, technology providers, and ecosystem partners.
• Monitor Estonia’s startup and fintech landscape for emerging opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, blockchain, digital identity, embedded finance, and payment infrastructure.
• Support portfolio or venture-growth strategies where applicable.
• Track European fintech investment trends and technology developments.
• Assess financial and operational risks associated with prospective investments.
• Present investment opportunities and strategic recommendations to senior decision-makers.
